Throughout 2016, we will hold workshops at the University of Vienna and invite any interested parties to come along. The workshops will involve various activities and sharing ideas with artists and scientists, working towards the development of The Art of Magnetism exhibitions.
We are particularly interested in hearing from school/youth groups, those from the scientific community, artists, science communicators, and anyone with an interest in art and/or science.
Workshop for school groups
One format for a workshop (approximately 1h long) aimed at school groups consists of a short introduction on magnets, nano size, magnetic fields and magnetic fluids. The participants will, i.a., visualise magnetic fields with the help of flux detectors and ferrofluids and create a common patchwork. The participants will be able to take pictures and print them to take home and upload them on the project’s website.
